The beginning of training camp may be moved back to Monday, instead of its previously scheduled date of Friday.
The league office has been polling executives for their input, according to sources.
Teams can only begin to officially sign free agents and makes trades on Friday, which would mean training camp rosters would be thin.
“Teams with just a handful of guys under contract have been complaining that it’s going to be too difficult to start on Friday,” one league executive said.
Update: Howard Beck of the New York Times reports that training camp will open Friday as previously planned.
