The NBA has promoted Amy Brooks to President, Team Marketing & Business Operations and Chief Innovation Officer.

In her newly-created role as Chief Innovation Officer, Brooks will drive innovative decision-making and growth across the NBA’s business through the development and execution of new ideas and initiatives. She will continue to report to Mark Tatum and will collaborate with the NBA’s senior leadership, including NBA Chief Financial Officer J.B. Lockhart, on setting the league’s global strategic priorities.

“Amy is one of the most accomplished and innovative executives in sports, and this promotion is a recognition of her outstanding leadership,” said Tatum. “She is an extraordinarily valuable resource to our teams and the league office, and she will be instrumental in our efforts to drive transformative business growth on a global basis.”

Brooks, who previously served as Executive Vice President, Team Marketing & Business Operations (TMBO), has overseen the TMBO department since 2013.
