The Los Angeles Lakers and Tyronn Lue have each decided to move on from their discussions on a head coaching position.

Both Lue and the Lakers agree he isn't the right fit. According to sources that spoke with Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports, the Lakers offered Lue a three-year deal worth $5 million, $6 million and $8 million per season. Lue sought a five-year deal, which was the same length Luke Walton previously had with the Lakers.

Lue was on the verge of agreement with the Lakers for several days and a deal appeared to be all but final.

There appears to be questions about Lue's coaching staff, with Jason Kidd a target of interest for the franchise.

The Cleveland Cavaliers still owe Lue more than $10 million on his contract payout.

The Lakers also interviewed Kidd and Juwan Howard for the position.
