The NCAA approved a rule change to move the 3-point line to the international distance of 22 feet and 1¾ inches.

The rule will go into effect next season at the Division I level.

Moving the 3-point line will improve offensive spacing and increase drives to the rim, according to the rules committee.

The NCAA also approved 4 more rule changes, including resetting the shot clock to 20 seconds following an offensive rebound.
