The NBPA is expected to vote on whether to start the season either December 22nd or January 18th by Thursday.
The December 22nd start date with a 72-game season is believed to be considered an inevitability at this point. The last possible date for Game 7 of The Finals under this scenario would be July 22nd, one day before the start of the Olympics.
The January 18th proposal would feature a 60-game regular season and an end date in August for The Finals.
The NBA is estimating approximately $500 million in additional revenue would become available with the earlier start date.
