Dennis Schroder and the Los Angeles Lakers remain far apart in contract extension negotiations, sources tell The Athletic.

Schroder is earning $15.5 million in the final season of a four-year contract. Schroder is seeking a multi-year extension that would pay him more than $20 million per season.

The delta between Schroder and the Lakers on the extension talks contributed to the team shopping him in a trade offer to the Toronto Raptors for Kyle Lowry.

Schroder rejected the Lakers’ two-year, $33.4 million contract extension offer before the season to sign for more years and money in his next contract.
