The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to trade Marc Gasol, a 2024 second round pick and cash to the Memphis Grizzlies for the draft rights to Wang Zhelin.

The deal saves the Lakers $10 million in salary and luxury tax expenditures.

Gasol and the Grizzlies will work on a buyout and release to allow him to remain in Spain. Gasol had a $2.7 million deal for the 21-22 season.

The Grizzlies will have to release a player in order to complete this trade and they already have a deal with the Boston Celtics queued up for September 15th.
