Gambling companies such as FanDuel, DraftKings and Caesars Sportsbook are expected to make bids for the NBA's live game rights.

The league's next TV contracts will start in 2025 and negotiations will begin in 2022.

NBA fans would be able to stream live games across a sportsbook’s platform while making in-game wagers, said T.K. Gore, longtime media advisor turned chief revenue officer of real-time streaming technology company Phenix.

ABC/ESPN and TNT have split the NBA's television package since 2002.

The NBA currently earns $2.6 billion per year from ESPN and TNT and the next round could go for $8 billion per year.
