The Los Angeles Lakers were mentioned in countless trade rumors leading up to last Thursday's deadline. The deadline passed without a deal, and Anthony Davis said that was freeing for the Lakers.
Davis said being past the deadline “lifted weight off the shoulders. This is our team, let’s go.”
The Lakers had several rumored deals on the table for Russell Westbrook. Los Angeles had also apparently talked about trading every player on their roster, not named Anthony Davis or LeBron James.
