The Detroit Pistons have signed Chimezie Metu to a 10-day contract. Metu has been a free agent since being waived by the Memphis Grizzlies following the trade deadline.

Metu started the season with the Phoenix Suns. The sixth-year big man was traded to the Grizzlies, along with Yuta Watanabe, in a deadline day deal that sent David Roddy to the Suns. The Grizzlies then waived Metu to open up a roster spot.

The 6-foot-11 center/forward has also played for the San Antonio Spurs and Sacramento Kings. Metu holds career averages of 5.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
