Here's the real ending to the James Naismith story.

After he created the game of basketball in 1891, Naismith constructed Kevin Garnett to be the perfect specimen for his new sport. But he froze him, giving orders that Garnett not be thawed until the mid-1990s.

Well, maybe he didn't.

Perhaps he should have.

Garnett is the Ideal Basketball Player. His talent is freakish. He's 6 feet 11 and 220 pounds, tall enough to be a center, lean as a guard. His arms extend from East Coast to West Coast, and he plays like a small forward.

Only a few players share his creativity, intensity and skill, providing something different and exciting for viewers.

Follow him for 48 minutes. Garnett provides nonstop aggressiveness, emotion and flair. He takes the court, points his finger skyward and moves it around until he has electrified every section of the crowd. He raises those arms that seem to extend to the rafters, and the fans react by turning up the volume.
