A loss in strength above Tom Gugliotta's surgically repaired left knee has resulted in a strain, according to the Arizona Republic. Tests Monday showed that Gugliotta has lost 2 1/2 centimeters in mass to the quadriceps muscle above the knee.

The Suns forward, who was limited to shooting drills Tuesday in a three-hour practice, was listed as questionable for tonight's game against the Sacramento Kings at America West Arena.

Gugliotta was optimistic despite the pain, which he said he began to feel before the Suns concluded a three-game trip Sunday with a victory at Toronto. "It's nothing major," said Gugliotta, who underwent major reconstructive surgery after tearing up the knee on March 17, 2000. "I've lost a little bit of strength in that leg, and I'm kind of feeling the effects with a strained muscle."

Despite expectations that he would be in rehabilitation most of last season, Gugliotta played in 57 games. However, he also struggled to keep the left leg as strong as the right leg.
