ATLANTA (AP) More than 60 Atlanta police officers have been disciplined for leaving their posts to work second jobs during the NBA All-Star game last year.

Some motorcycle officers left their posts and provided private escorts for celebrities as the city found itself choking in traffic that weekend. Other officers worked jobs for the NBA.

Police Chief Richard Pennington has charged officers with not having second job permits, neglect of duty, failure to supervise and lying to investigators.

Punishments for the officers range from written reprimands to suspensions. A major was demoted and a lieutenant has been fired.

Pennington began an investigation after WAGA-TV aired a story about the officers' actions.
