The Bobcats have activated forward Tamar Slay from the injured list for Tuesday night's game at New Jersey. In conjunction with that move, forward/center Jamal Sampson was placed on the injured list with a right foot injury.

Slay appeared in three of the team?s first five games and averaged 4.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in 7.7 minutes. The 6-8, 220-pounder posted season highs with nine points and five rebounds against Golden State on November 13.

Slay will be in uniform on Tuesday against the Nets, the team he played for his first two NBA seasons before signing with Charlotte as a free agent on July 14, 2004. Slay was placed on the injured list on November 15 with a left foot injury.

Sampson appeared in five games this season after he was activated from the injured list on November 15 and averaged 2.6 points and 4.6 rebounds in 13.4 minutes. His best performance came in a double-overtime loss to Detroit on November 21 when he had 4 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocked shots in 23 minutes. The 6-11, 258-pounder underwent right foot surgery on March 9, 2004, and was selected by the Bobcats in the Expansion Selection on June 22 from the Los Angeles Lakers.
