If the Toronto Raptors have any doubts about re-signing point guard Mike James, Chris Bosh gave his point guard a ringing endorsement.

According to the Toronto Sun, Bosh would like to see James stay in Toronto and is hoping to express his opinion to the organization soon.

''That would really mean a lot,'' Bosh told the Sun. ''I think that would be the beginning of some stability. We've been working together well and we have a great relationship on and off the court, so I think it would be a good fit for him to stay.''

James has enjoyed a resurgent season since coming over from the Houston Rockets in the offseason but is slated to become a free agent this summer. If the Raptors don't trade him before the deadline or re-sign him, the veteran floor general would be free to sign elsewhere.

But Bosh plans on meeting with Raptors interim general manager Wayne Embry before the February 23 trade deadline and make a push to keep James.

''I don't want to act like I have so much power,'' Bosh told the newspaper. ''All I can do is recommend and see what they do. I need to see what (Embry's) thinking and add my little two cents.''
