The Seattle SuperSonics announced that their NBA Development League affiliate, the Idaho Stampede, will be hosting an open player tryout on October 27 and 28 at the Stampede practice facility, the Boys and Girls Club of Garden City.  The tryout will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, in the main gym at 610 E. 42nd Street, Boise, ID 83714.

?The D-League offers players the opportunity to gain valuable experience,? said Sonics General Manager Sam Presti.  ?Our organization will certainly keep track of the tryout in Boise.?

Open tryouts offer athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of Stampede coaching staff, including head coach Bryan Gates.  Players will compete to earn an invitation to the Stampede?s official training camp, which is scheduled to begin November 9.

One former Stampede player, and current Cleveland Cavalier Ira Newble, started his playing career at a free agent tryout camp.
