Stephon Marbury has tabled his plans to play in Italy for a few years and said that he hopes to play in the NBA until then, according to a report in the New York Post.

Marbury hopes to play out the final year of his contract with the Knicks, with the removal of Isiah Thomas in the front office increasing those chances.

"That's my goal is to retire a Knick," Marbury said. "I got a lot of basketball left in me to play. I definitely want to explore overseas, but that's later on, when I'm on the downside of my career. I know I can play another five years at a high level."
