There were rumors earlier this week that Monta Ellis might want out of Golden State, but he squashed speculation on Thursday.

"I'm a Golden State Warrior," Ellis said in an interview with KNBR. "I'm going to be a Warrior. Hopefully I'll retire a Warrior. I'm not thinking of leaving. It hasn't crossed my mind. I'm here to set the record straight. It never came from me."

The rumors claimed that Ellis might ask for a trade if the Warriors selected a point guard in next week's NBA Draft.

Some suggested that Ellis is content now because Golden State general manager Larry Riley and head coach Don Nelson assured him that a point guard wouldn't be taken.

"We did not make him a promise on who we're going to draft," Riley said. "There was none of that. There was no talk about not drafting particular positions or particular players. Our talk was totally about our team and our staff and getting things moving in the right direction. We were trying to get everyone on the same page."
