Kobe Bryant scored 19 points in the third quarter of the team's preseason loss to the Jazz on Sunday night.

Bryant played just 20 minutes and sat out the entire fourth quarter.

"When Kobe was out there, he had a great run," Jazz coach Jerry Sloan said.

"They really showed their defensive ability. They just came out and annihilated us. But the important thing is that we tried to keep focused on what we had to do. That's the only way we can get any better."

Utah's first-round pick, Gordon Hayward, scored 26 points in the victory.
