Toronto Raptors forward Ed Davis was assigned to the Erie BayHawks, the Raptors' NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today.  The assignment marks the fifth time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the first assignment for Davis, a rookie out of North Carolina.

Davis (6-10, 225) will join the BayHawks on a short-term rehabilitation and conditioning assignment.  Davis has been cleared to resume game action after sustaining a meniscus tear in his right knee before the start of training camp.  He will be placed on Toronto?s inactive list, but will remain on the team?s roster.
