Oakland's Keith Benson has been named Summit League Men's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.

Benson, a senior from Farmington Hills, Mich., led the Golden Grizzlies to a league record 17 consecutive conference wins and set a new all-time record in blocked shots.

He began the week with a season-high tying 28 points, 11 rebounds and blocked three shots at South Dakota State on Thursday, Jan. 20, to become The Summit League's all-time shot blocker with 320, surpassing Central Connecticut State and NBA player Keith Closs' 317 (1994-96).
