The Nets' Kris Humphries will be a free agent this summer, and all signs point to the power forward returning.

A team source said the Nets expect Humphries to be back, and they will do everything they can to re-sign him. At the same time, Humphries is acting and talking like someone who wants to stay.

Humphries has proven his value to the Nets with his rebounding and toughness. But he also could be a valuable chip if the Nets try to acquire Dwight Howard from Orlando.

The Nets are expected to pursue Howard, and to acquire him, the Nets may have to offer a package that includes Humphries and Brook Lopez.
