LaQuinton Ross, a top-50 recruit for the current freshman class, has been ruled a non-qualifier by the NCAA.

Ross failed to meet NCAA standards with either his test scores or his academic transcript, and he was ineligible to play or practice this season if he remained at Ohio State.

Ross plans to leave Columbus in the hopes of gaining the necessary grades or scores that would allow him to return to Ohio State for the academic quarter that begins in January as a full qualifier able to play this season.
