The Knicks are attempting to acquire either Chris Paul, Dwight Howard or Deron Williams to join the tandem of Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire to create a Big 3 of their own that would rival the Heat.

The odds of acquiring a third maximum salaried player are long and Howard Beck of the New York Times isn't sure the front office has an alternative plan.

"At the moment, it appears to be three-max-players-or-bust," writes Beck. "I don’t get the sense that the Knicks have a Plan B. But they could use that $13 million of cap room next summer in a lot of other ways."
