Chris Paul was an active participant in NBPA labor negotiations with the owners.

According to a New York Post report from November, Paul was furious when Spurs’ owner Peter Holt said their 50-50 offer of BRI was a “Take it or leave it” proposition.

“Take it or leave it?” shouted Paul several times back at Holt during the October confrontation.

On Thursday, the NBA had the Hornets back out of an agreed upon three-team trade involving Paul on for “basketball reasons”, according to league spokesman Tim Frank. This was an unprecedented action given the NBA's ownership of the Hornets.

A league source, however, tells Adrian Wojnarowski a different story of the reasoning.

"(David Stern) wasn't going to let Chris Paul dictate where he wanted to go," said the source.
