The Maine Red Claws today announced that Morris Almond has rejoined the team after spending a year and half playing overseas. The 6-6, 205 lb. forward is expected to join the team for practice this morning. To make room for Almond, forward Paul Harris has been waived due to injury.

The NBA Development League’s leading scorer in 2009-10 (24.6 ppg) and 2007-08 (25.6 ppg), Almond’s name appears frequently throughout the league’s media guide. Among his records: most points in a game (53), field goals made in a game (19), field goals attempted (37), and free throws in a season (323). Almond entered the season 13th all-time in scoring with 2,239 points. Almond, who has twice scored more than 50 points in an NBA D-League game, holds the Red Claws record for points in a game with 40.

Almond was acquired by the Red Claws in a four-player trade with the Springfield Armor in February 2010.
