Paul Crosby of Mississippi Valley State has been named the 2012 SWAC Player of the Year.

Crosby, a 6-foot-8 senior out of Michigan, averaged 13.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game during conference play.

Crosby is joined on the SWAC First Team All-Conference by teammate Cor-J Cox, Southern's Quinton Doggett, Grambling State's Quincy Roberts and Savalace Townsend of Arkansas Pine-Bluff.

On the SWAC Second Team All-Conference are Omar Strong and Fred Studivant of Texas Southern, Ivory White of Alabama State, Terrence Joyner of Mississippi Valley State and Daniel Broughton of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

The SWAC Third Team All-Conference is comprised of Alabama State's Tramaine Butler and Phillip Crawford, Southern's Derick Beltran, Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Mitchell Anderson and Kevin Burwell of Mississippi Valley State.

Townsend was also named the SWAC Defensive Player of the Year, while Roberts was named Top Newcomer.

Jackson State's Kelsey Howard was named SWAC Freshman of the Year.
