Mitchell Watt of Buffalo has been named the 2012 MAC Player of the Year.

Watt averaged 16.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game in conference play.

Watt is joined on the All-MAC First Team by teammate Javon McCrea, Ohio's D.J. Cooper, Kent State's Justin Greene and Julian Mavunga of Miami (OH).

On the All-MAC Second Team is Akron's Alex Abreu and Zeke Marshall, Toledo's Rian Pearson, Ball State's Jarrod Jones and Bowling Green's A'uston Calhoun.

The All-MAC Third Team is comprised of Akron's Nikola Cvetinovic, Eastern Michigan's Darrell Lampley, Kent State's Mike Porrini, Bowling Green's Scott Thomas and Central Michigan's Trey Zeigler.

Receiving All-MAC Honorable Mention votes are Kent State's Carlton Guyton and Rand Holt, Ohio's Ivo Baltic and Walter Offutt, Curtis Dennis of Toledo and Flenard Whitfield of Western Michigan.

Marshall was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Toledo's Julius Brown was named Freshman of the Year.

Joining Brown on the All-Freshman Team is Ball State's Aaron Adeoye, Austin McBroom of Central Michigan, Abdel Nader of Northern Illinois and Brian Sullivan of Miami (OH).
