Joe Lacob elaborated on the Warriors decision to trade Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown for Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson.

"Our basketball operations staff was unanimous on this move," wrote Lacob. "Beyond unanimous…ecstatic. This was an entirely offensive move. And the reaction around the league is extremely positive. And should be so. The Warriors just got a lot better."

Lacob also expressed how trading for Bogut wouldn't have been possible without the injury risk.

"We would likely never have been able to pull this off if Andrew Bogut was perfectly healthy today. Nobody trades an all star center unless they are nervous about something such as injury or trade requests. Our medical staff has fully reviewed his situation.
