The Professional Basketball Writers Association announced nine awards for 2012 during All-Star Weekend.

Dave McMenamin, Benjamin Hochman and Steve Aschburner won for game story.

McMenamin wrote on Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals, while Hochman covered Carmelo Anthony's first game against the Nuggets, and Aschburner wrote on Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Ian Thomsen was awarded for his column on LeBron James, Kevin Ding for Jeremy Lin and Fran Blinebury's piece on Yao Ming.

In the feature category, Jonathan Abrams won for his retrospective on the Malice at the Palace, Kevin Arnovitz for Neil Olshey, and Marc Stein for his piece on Steve Nash joining the Lakers.
