The Houston Rockets assigned second-year forward Tyler Honeycutt to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets’ NBA Development League affiliate.

Honeycutt (6-8, 188, UCLA) was acquired by Houston in a trade with the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday along with Thomas Robinson and Francisco Garcia in exchange for Patrick Patterson, Toney Douglas, Cole Aldrich and cash.

Honeycutt has played in 24 games over two seasons, averaging 1.2 points and 1.0 rebound in 5.0 minutes, all with Sacramento.
