The New York Knicks will sign Solomon Jones for the remainder of the season, according to sources.

Jones received his letter of clearance from China on Friday to join the Knicks for the season and playoffs. Jones averaged 15.8 points and 10.4 rebounds this season with Liaoning of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Jones played parts of the 2011-12 season with the New Orleans Hornets and Los Angeles Clippers and played 58 games with the Atlanta Hawks in his first NBA season in 2006-07.

The Knicks plan to release Kurt Thomas to create room on the roster.

James Singleton had been reported as the player the Knicks were going to sign, but his deal apparently fell through.
