Dell Demps has been scouring Europe in a bid to find young prospects.

"We go over there a few times a year and we’re not just looking at draft guys,'' Demps said. “It’s competitive over there now. You can start watching those guys at young ages and as we track guys here, we track guys there as well.’’

New Orleans signed Brian Roberts in 2012 after scouting him while he played in Germany.

Roberts played in 78 games this past season, which included five starts, and averaged 7.1 points and 2.8 points.

"It all has to line up. If the film looks good and what you’ve heard about the kid is good and all the numbers on paper are good, then hopefully you got yourself a good player," Monty Williams said. "We look to get at least two out of three of those variables. I think most of the guys we brought in fit that mold. I don’t know what the percentage is, but any time you try to get too complicated and over-scout looking for a perfect player, you get yourself in trouble.”
