Rajon Rondo will have a “completely open mind” next season with regard to Brad Stevens being hired as the Boston Celtics’ head coach, a source close to the point guard said.

"They both have a lot to prove," the source said of Stevens and Rondo. "Might as well do it together."

Rondo is coming off a torn right anterior cruciate ligament and is expected to be ready for training camp in October.

Stevens agreed to terms on a six-year, $22 million contract with the Celtics after leading Butler to back-to-back Final Fours and a 166-49 record.
