Jeremy Tyler’s contract with the New York Knicks is a partially guaranteed deal signifying the organization’s commitment for him to be part of the short- and long-term future, a league source told RealGM.

Tyler, the No. 39 pick in the 2011 NBA draft, has averaged 3.6 points and 2.5 rebounds over 63 games with the Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks. At 6-foot-10, Tyler provides depth to a Knicks frontcourt that dealt with injury issues a season ago.

Tyler, 22, averaged 12.8 points and 6.4 rebounds for the Knicks in summer league, showing an elevated fitness and firm moves inside.
