Mike Woodson hopes to have another shot as an NBA head coach after his dismissal by the New York Knicks.

The Knicks had a 17-win dropoff from 12-13.

"I've got to move on and close the chapter in this book and get ready for a new chapter because I still want to coach, and I love what I do," Woodson said Saturday night while working as an analyst on NBA TV. "The last two years, prior to coming into this season, was a good two seasons for our ball club and for our fans, and this year things just didn't work out.

"Sometimes in life, things just don't work out according to plan. But I look at it, overall it was a good run and it was a great experience for me from a coaching standpoint."

Woodson has a career coaching record of 315-366.
