The New York Knicks have no issues with Steve Kerr calling the Western Conference Finals for TNT, which won't end until late May or early June.

Kerr has yet to agree to terms with the Knicks to become their head coach, but they're the clear frontrunner. The Golden State Warriors remain a backup choice if negotiations fall apart with the Knicks.

“It’s the right thing to do, and I want to do it," wrote Kerr in an email. "I am under contract to do so, and I will finish up my work before moving on.’’

Sources have said formal contract details have to be worked out, likely causing the delay.

Kerr is believed to be seeking a five-year deal with the Knicks, matching the length of Phil Jackson's deal.
