The Memphis Grizzlies have serious interest in trying to convince Jeff Van Gundy to serve as their next head coach and team president, according to sources.

The Grizzlies are considering pursuing Van Gundy and it is unclear whether the veteran coach would be interested.

The Grizzlies, who recently fired Jason Levien and Stu Lash, are also considering Alvin Gentry and George Karl as head coaching candidates. Dave Joerger is expected to be the new head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Van Gundy has served as a broadcaster on ESPN since 2007, when he was fired by the Houston Rockets.
