DeMarcus Cousins does not expect to be traded by the Sacramento Kings during the current season.

“Unless you know something I don’t,” Cousins said with a chuckle when asked about it.

Sources with knowledge of the Kings' thinking believe it is still too early to entertain the idea of trading away Cousins. The Kings are searching for their first playoff berth during the current tenure of ownership.

“I talk to management a lot,” Cousins said. “We’re on the same page. I’m not worried about it.

“To know that you’re wanted throughout the league ... I’d be worried if nobody wanted me. Then I’d have a situation on my hands. But I’m happy where I am. I’m happy with this team. I’m in a great place.”

Cousins can become a free agent in the 2018 offseason.
