Carmelo Anthony is skeptical the NBA and NBPA will be able to fully agree upon a new collective bargaining agreement by December 15th.

Both sides have the ability to opt out of the current collective bargaining agreement until December 15th. If the two sides are unable to agree upon a new CBA by June 30th, the NBA could head towards a work stoppage.

A new deal has been reportedly close to completion for several weeks.

"I'm skeptical of something getting done," Anthony said. "Do I think something could happen by the 15th? Yeah, I think something could happen. But I think this kind of put a dent in conversations.

"We had something so close. We were supposed to have a deal done weeks ago, and for this to happen at the 25th hour is tough."

Talks have been ongoing with both sides expressing optimism.
