The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to acquire DeMarcus Cousins from the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings will acquire Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway, the Pelicans' 2017 first round pick and the Philadelphia 76ers' 2017 second round pick in exchange for Cousins and Omri Casspi. The Pelicans' first round pick is top-3 protected for 2017.

Cousins will team up with Anthony Davis to form one of the NBA's best frontcourt duos in recent memory. The Pelicans also managed to retain Jrue Holiday.

The Kings and Cousins were widely expected to agree upon a supermax extension this offseason before a new round of Cousins' trade talks surfaced on Sunday.
