The Houston Rockets are finalizing a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers for Lou Williams.

The Rockets will send Corey Brewer and a first round pick to the Lakers for Williams.

The deal is the first for the Lakers since they fired Mitch Kupchak and Jim Buss to elevate Magic Johnson to President of Basketball Operations.

Williams signed with the Lakers in 2015 on a three-year, $21 million contract.

The Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards also pursued a trade for Williams.
