The Indiana Pacers are testing the trade market on Paul George.

While the Pacers are looking to surround George with talent and sign him to a long-term extension, they are also soliciting offers to begin rebuilding around Myles Turner.

The Pacers feel no sense of urgency in trading George unless they believe the Boston Celtics could provide the best package and will instead deal with the Chicago Bulls for Jimmy Butler.

Beyond re-signing with the Pacers as a free agent in 2018, George has also considered joining his hometown Los Angeles Lakers.

With Magic Johnson hired by the Lakers to run their front office, they are viewed as a more viable destination for George. Johnson has been a George family icon dating back to his childhood in Palmdale, California.
