The Detroit Pistons released an updated logo on Tuesday that will be used on the club's podium during the NBA Draft Lottery.

The "Detroit Pistons" font has been updated over a redesigned red, white and blue basketball. It is similar to the logo the "Bad Boys" teams sported during back-to-back championships in 1989 and 1990.

"We felt very much that we had that pride and we had that logo and then we wanted to contemporize it to reflect this year's team and the next chapter," Charlie Metzger, Pistons executive vice president and chief marketing officer, said. "We modified some of the groove lines. The font is now consistent with what our players have on their jerseys and the outside chrome is symbolic of the Motor City and everything we got going here."

The Pistons move into Little Caesars Arena next season in downtown Detroit.
