The Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics have held serious talks involving the first overall pick.

The Celtics would receive multiple draft assets from Philadelphia in exchange for the No. 1 pick. The 76ers own the third overall pick in this year's draft as well as several future draft picks. During a segment on SportsCenter, Zach Lowe reported "it looks very likely to happen. The terms are essentially agreed to, at this point I would be really surprised if this falls apart."

Markelle Fultz is widely assumed to be the preferred choice at No. 1 for both the Celtics and 76ers.

Adrian Wojnarowski reports the two sides are "deep into talks" and Philadelphia is waiting on medical information on Fultz. Wojnarowski also reports the future first from the 76ers could be the 2018 unprotected picks from the Lakers. The 2018 draft is expected to be very strong at the top with Michael Porter Jr. and Luka Doncic.
