Aron Baynes has declined his $6.5 million player option with the Detroit Pistons to become a free agent.

The Pistons had anticipated Baynes would become a free agent this offseason.

Baynes averaged 4.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 15.5 minutes per game over 75 appearances last season with the Pistons.

Baynes signed a three-year, $20 million deal with the Pistons in 2015 leaving the San Antonio Spurs.
