Dwyane Wade is leaning towards picking up his $24 million player option for the 17-18 season with the Chicago Bulls.

Wade told the Bulls he has no interesting in being part of a rebuilding project, but his decision on the player option will be made independent of whether they trade Jimmy Butler.

Wade realizes he's unlikely to find a salary on the open market that matches what he's owed from the Bulls and has come to enjoy playing in his hometown.

Wade took less money for several seasons with the Miami Heat and is not inclined to do so in 17-18.
