Derrick Rose and the Cleveland Cavaliers are in serious talks on a one-year deal. The Cavaliers can offer the veteran's minimum to Rose and they also have a portion of the taxpayer midlevel exception.

Rose's market in free agency has been more tepid than he expected. Rose has also met with the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers.

As recently as January, Rose was telling friends he was expecting a five-year max contract from the New York Knicks.

Rose is coming off a five-year, $94 million contract extension signed in 2011 with the Chicago Bulls.

Rose is also meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers about a potential deal.
