While the San Antonio Spurs and LaMarcus Aldridge agreed upon a three-year extension before the start of the season, both sides were interested in a trade during the offseason.

One scenario the Spurs discussed was trying to acquire Kyrie Irving in a deal for Aldridge.

"The Spurs did talk about trading LaMarcus last year," said Adrian Wojnarowski. "He was very open to being traded. They talked about deals around the draft and they talked about deals in the the summer, when they were trying to get Kyrie Irving."

Aldridge and Gregg Popovich cleared the air before the start of the season.

"Seems right now he's feeling comfortable, he's fitting well. He's more at home now, being himself," said Danny Green. "He's playing good basketball, he's in good shape right now."

"I think he's becoming happier as we go along," Green said.
