Derrick Rose has remained in communication with the Cleveland Cavaliers' front office during his self-imposed exile from the franchise.

Rose's future with the Cavaliers and in the NBA remains unclear. Rose is considering whether he wants to rehab his sprained ankle and rejoin the Cavaliers this season or possibly retire.

Rose signed a one-year, $2.1 million veteran's minimum deal to join the Cavaliers. Cleveland put Rose in a walking boot last week in hopes of alleviating pressure on his left foot.

The Cavaliers have been patient with Rose as he goes through his soul searching.
